BlueSD was created in January 2009 shortly after the end of the 2008 election cycle. The blog was created when it became obvious that it was hard to find progressive blogs/sources during the 2008 elections while the local GOP had an easy time pooling all of their online commentary at redcounty.com/sandiego which is now defunct. There were plenty of progressive thinkers online but it was difficult finding them. With BlueSD, it is the blog’s goal to provide a forum for progressive bloggers to post commentary/updates about local SD politics.
