Tracy Emblem has come a long way since her crappy campaign launch. Who can forget that first website that looked like a website from the 1990′s.
But she is looking better and better by the week. Francine Busby, the leading Dem for the primary to take on Brian Bilbray this fall, has been around but she hasn’t made as much noise as Emblem has. Tracy has been increasing the tempo of her campaign and it shows.
However tonight she posted something clever on her daughter/campaign manager’s Facebook page:
Not much difference between Busby & Bilbray — Both start with “B”
and end with “Y” and both share the same middle initial of “P” — They could be called Busbray?
Tracy is smarter than I thought. The gloves are starting to come off and now that it is almost March and June is right around the corner. I am looking forward to seeing how Tracy will frame the choice between herself and Busbray Busby. Busby is a revered figure within the party but she definitely has lost her luster with the Tracy constantly lurking in Busby’s shadows. A lot of the credit goes to her campaign manager, Erin, who definitely knows what she is doing. Young campaign managers, if knowledgeable, are a good thing for upstart campaigns. I worked with Erin back in 2002 when we were both interns in Susan Davis’ DC office. I enjoyed working with her and came away impressed with her. I never saw her again until the Labor 101 meeting last year when I recognized her instantly and figured Tracy just might have a fighting chance after all. The odds were stacked against her but Tracy and Erin have pushed hard and now I am definitely eager to see the race heat up between Tracy and Busbray Busby.

Hey Pepster!
Thanks for the shout-out, its been way too long.
The FB comment you referred to was in reference to Tracy’s opponents’ stance on immigration. Not a blow to her primary opponent, just a fact. A few months ago SDNN.com published Tracy’s Democratic opponent’s position… as it turns out, both Tracy’s opponents are practically joined at the hip on this issue.
Also, I think the gloves came off when the other Democrat entered the race after Tracy announced. For her sake, I hope she’s puttin on her game face because Tracy isn’t just smart, she’s very, very intelligent, and highly qualified.
Unlike either of her opponents, Tracy understands the law and has a brilliant legal mind. She is an accomplished attorney who has written over 300 writs and appeals, argued before the California Supreme Court and she has well over 20 published opinions in the California Courts (establishing her work product and legal arguments as precedence for judicial decisions). Tracy has been fighting for justice for the past 20 years, of which 5 years and countless pro-bono hours she worked tirelessly to crack open a cold case file where she uncovered medical evidence and legal misconduct which led to the exoneration of an innocent man who had been wrongfully imprisoned for over 21 years.
I believe Einstein said that the definition of insanity is repeating the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. If we expect to win, we’re gonna have to break the mold. Be sure to keep this race on your radar we’ve got a different variable in the equation.
EMBLEM GETS DUMB!
Anyone who has seen Tracy speak understands, she is awful. She has not developed stances. She always says “working people”, who is she talking about?
Tracy is in debt over $40,000, which is something she doesn’t talk about. She says campaigns aren’t about money yet shes spent a lot of her own! Sadly she only has $8,000 in the bank! WHAT A JOKE!!! You can not beat Bilbray with 8,000 in the bank! 8,000 is not even enough to run an effective and competitive school board election.
I have no idea what shes thinking. I have met her husband Thor Emblem, and I really wish he would have ran! He is so smart and personable. Great man! Maybe 2012?
Any who Francine Busby is the only candidate who is viable enough to take on Bilbray. If anyone disputes that, just look at Tracy’s bank account. That is reason enough to support anyone else who is running for the nomination.
